HISTORY
Since 1796, the tradition of producing pewter ornaments has been kept alive by the
family of Wilhelm Schweizer, Diessen, Bavaria. Even today they base their designs on
originals often over two hundred years old.

The range consists of exquisitely detailed standing pieces, window and wall
hangings. Most items are two sided, meaning that both sides of the piece is hand
painted. The window and wall hangings are hand painted on one side and are
traditionally hung in windows facing outward, or on walls as a beautiful decoration.

Diessen, a small town located on the shores of Lake Ammerseein in the heart
of Bavaria's beautiful and romantic countryside, has a rich historical and artistic heritage,
which dates back to the 9th Century.

Hand Engraving
The design is skilfully carved into a slab of slate.
The mould must be formed to create a mirror match.

Hand Casting
Molten Pewter is poured into the feeding tubes to fill the the mould.
It hardens very quickly, so the challenge is to insure the tubes
will fill the mould completely before the pewter sets.

Hand Painting
Each mould is carefully painted by one of the talented artists.
Enamel paint is applied with special Rotmarderhaar (Red Martin hair) brushes.
These brushes allow very slender points to be made.
